How to download a VK video

What you can save from VK

Public VK videos. Private and friends-only videos are not available.

The VK tab on the VK page of this site saves an MP4 video. No account is needed and nothing is installed.

Step 1: copy the link

Open the video, click Share, then copy the link. Links that contain video-123_456 work best.

Step 2: paste it

Open the VK Video Downloader page and paste the link into the box. It starts on its own and shows a preview in a few seconds. You can also press the Paste button.

Step 3: save the file

Press the Download button. You get an MP4 video. On iPhone, use Safari, open the Downloads list and choose Share, Save Video. On Android and computers the file goes to your Downloads folder.

About quality

We return the best video file the platform serves. We do not re-encode it, so the quality you save is the quality it holds, commonly 720p or 1080p.

If it does not work

VK videos that are public and have a link such as vk.com/video-123_456 work best. Private and friends-only videos are not available.

Open the link in a private browser window. If it opens without logging in, it is public. Wait a minute and try again, as platforms sometimes limit requests for a short time.
