How to download a Snapchat Spotlight video

What you can save from Snapchat

Public Spotlight videos. Private Snaps and friends' Stories are never available.

The Snapchat tab on the Snapchat page of this site saves an MP4 video. No account is needed and nothing is installed.

Step 1: copy the link

Open the Spotlight video, tap Share, then Copy link.

Step 2: paste it

Open the Snapchat Spotlight Downloader page and paste the link into the box. It starts on its own and shows a preview in a few seconds. You can also press the Paste button.

Step 3: save the file

Press the Download button. You get an MP4 video. On iPhone, use Safari, open the Downloads list and choose Share, Save Video. On Android and computers the file goes to your Downloads folder.

About quality

We return the best video file the platform serves. We do not re-encode it, so the quality you save is the quality it holds, commonly 720p or 1080p.

If it does not work

Only public Spotlight videos can be saved. Private Snaps and friends' stories are never available, and a profile link does not point to one video.

Open the link in a private browser window. If it opens without logging in, it is public. Wait a minute and try again, as platforms sometimes limit requests for a short time.
