What you can save from X
Videos, GIFs and photos attached to public posts on X (Twitter).
The GIF tab on the X page of this site saves an MP4 video. No account is needed and nothing is installed.
Step 1: copy the link
Tap the share icon under the post and choose Copy link, or copy the address of the post from your browser.
Step 2: paste it
Open the Twitter / X GIF Downloader page and paste the link into the box. It starts on its own and shows a preview in a few seconds. You can also press the Paste button.
Step 3: save the file
Press the Download button. You get an MP4 video. On iPhone, use Safari, open the Downloads list and choose Share, Save Video. On Android and computers the file goes to your Downloads folder.
About quality
We return the best video file the platform serves. We do not re-encode it, so the quality you save is the quality it holds, commonly 720p or 1080p.
If it does not work
Posts from protected accounts are never available. Use the link that contains /status/ and a number, and pick the Video, GIF or Photo tab to match the post.
Open the link in a private browser window. If it opens without logging in, it is public. Wait a minute and try again, as platforms sometimes limit requests for a short time.
