This post couldn't be fetched

The most common message. It nearly always means the post is not public, or the link is not the post itself.

Last updated: October 29, 2026

What you see

The tool says the post may be private, deleted or unavailable.

Quick fix

  1. 1

Open the link in a private or incognito window.

  2. 2

If it plays without logging in, wait a minute and try again.

  3. 3

If it asks you to log in, the post is not public.

Common causes

A private account

Only approved followers can see the posts, so a public tool cannot read them.

A deleted or still processing post

A post that was removed, or uploaded only seconds ago, may have no playable file yet.

The wrong kind of link

A profile, a page or a search result has many posts behind it and no single file.

A country or age limit

Some posts are blocked in certain countries or for certain ages and are served only when logged in.

A short block by the platform

After many requests in a short time a platform can slow us down for a minute or two.

Step by step on your device

  1. 1

Open Safari and tap the tabs icon.

  2. 2

Choose Private, then tap the plus sign.

  3. 3

Paste the link in the address bar.

  4. 4

If you can watch the post, it is public.

The details

What it means

We could not find a public file for that link. We only see what any visitor can see without logging in, so anything behind a login stays out of reach.

The usual reasons

The account is private, or the post is shared only with friends or followers. The post was deleted or is still processing after being uploaded. The link points to a profile, a page or a search result, not to one post. The video is limited by country or age. The platform briefly limited requests.

How to check in one minute

A private browser window shows what a stranger sees.

  1. Open a private or incognito window.
  2. Paste the same link in the address bar.
  3. If you can watch the post without logging in, it is public and you can try again.
  4. If it asks you to log in, it is not public and no web tool can save it.

What to try next

Copy the link of the post itself from the Share menu. Wait a minute and press Try again, since platforms sometimes slow down requests for a short time. If the post is yours, you can save it from the original file on your phone, which is the best quality anyway.

How to avoid it next time

Questions people ask

Is there a way to save a private post?

Not with a public tool. If the post belongs to someone you know, ask them to share the file, or ask them to make it public for a short time.

The post is public but still fails. Why?

Wait a minute and try again, and check that you copied the link of the post itself. If it keeps failing, send us the link on the contact page.

Does this message mean you are blocked?

No. It is a general message for any case where no public file was found.

Ready to try again?

Follow the quick fix above, then paste your link once more.
